This week has been a trying one for the multi-million selling rock band Radiohead. It started last Saturday in Toronto when the band’s stage setup collapsed, killing longtime drum technician Scott Johnson and injuring three others. Now, the band has announced that they are cancelling their upcoming tour dates in light of the incident.
In a statement released to the press, the band announced that seven dates in Italy, Germany and Switzerland will be cancelled. The band cited the personal impact that Johnson’s death had on the band while noting that the stage collapse also damaged lighting and musical equipment.
Radiohead left the possibility of rescheduling the cancelled dates, saying that a final announcement on the cancelled shows would come on June 27th.
Radiohead will continue their tour in Nimes, France on July 10th.
