Working with Crazy Horse seems to have re-energized Neil Young. On October 30th, Young and his venerable band plan to release Psychedelic Pill, his 36th album and his 2nd release this year. Unlike his previous album Americana, which consisted of re-arranged traditional folk songs, Psychedelic Pill consists entirely of Neil Young originals, all likely played in that loud, barnstorming Crazy Horse style.
For those of you who can’t wait until October 30th for your fix of Neil, don’t worry; we’ve got you covered. The band released a video for the album’s first single “Walk Like A Giant” today via Young’s Youtube channel. Neil and the band have taken a different approach to the video, relying on stock footage and kaleidoscopic imagery to illustrate the song’s forward momentum rather than appearing in the video in person. You can watch the video below.
Psychedelic Pill is currently available for pre-order through Amazon.com. Neil and Crazy Horse will be on tour starting October 3rd; check neilyoung.com for tour dates. Also, Neil will be holding a Q&A session with fans via his newly established Twitter account; follow him at twitter.com/neilyoung.
