Led Zeppelin has started the countdown for the bomb drop. Metaphorically, of course. The only problem is that no one knows exactly what the big news will be. Hopefully, it will be something explosive.
The band started their epic countdown on Facebook on Saturday. They posted the word “Five” in a font resembling the typeface of their fourth album, gaining over 37,000 likes. Yesterday, they posted “Four,” and of course, today was “Three.” The countdown will end Thursday in what some fans hope to be an announcement of a new tour. Unfortunately, Robert Plant has already told Rolling Stone that a reunion of the great rockers is not likely. It seems more likely that the countdown will result in the announcement of a new DVD about the band’s last reunion in 2007. Jimmy Page’s manager, Peter Mensch, fueled the suspense by tweeting, “It’s almost here. I’ve seen it and heard it. Almost five years to the day.” Either way, Led Zeppelin knows how to get its fans drooling in anticipation.
