Foo Fighters are working on a new album, and Dave Grohl claims that they’re doing it in a way that no one has ever done before. However, Grohl has kept mum as to what that new way of recording actually was since making his proclamation in August. Now, it seems that Grohl’s plans have been leaked, and it’s an interesting conceit: the band are recording in 12 different studios in 12 different cities.
The story comes via Foo Fighters fanpage Foo Archive, who posted a blind item from Billboard about the album on their Twitter account. Grohl is apparently looking for iconic recording studios to work in, and he’s already penciled in dates in Los Angeles, New York, Seattle, and Chicago.
At this time, all of this remains rumors and speculation. However, Grohl is known for his fondness for classic recording studios, having made a documentary on one last year. If this is true, it’d be interesting to see what results from Grohl’s unconventional recording methods.
