Virtuoso folk/roots guitarist Steve Dawson has announced the release of a new record, and Elmore has an exclusive first listen of a song from the album. The album, Rattlesnake Cage, is comprised of 11 original compositions from Dawson, and, with a stripped-down no-frills approach, showcases Dawson’s playing abilities.
Dawson, a Canadian native, has a long career as a producer in the Canadian folk/roots music scene, working on albums by Jim Byrnes, Madeleine Peyroux, the Deep Dark Woods and the Sojourners. His recent move to Nashville, TN is reflected in the sound of Rattlesnake Cage.
The album was recorded with a vintage tube microphone salvaged from a Detroit theater and with a number of vintage acoustic guitars.
