This year marks the 40th anniversary of the formation of punk/new wave icons Blondie, and the band are celebrating with a new studio album. The new release will be included in the new box set Blondie 4(0) Ever, set to be released on May 13th.
The new studio album included on 4(0) Ever, titled Ghosts Of Download, is the first collection of new material from Debbie Harry and co. since 2011’s Panic Of Girls. Today, the band debuted the first taste of their new material with “Sugar On The Side,” a Carribean-flavored dance tune recorded with Systema Solar. You can watch the video here, via Hunger TV.
The song is indicative of a lot of the tracks on Ghosts Of Download, according to Harry. “This album is a little more far-reaching,” she said in an interview with Hunger. “We’ve done a lot more collaboration, with different musicians, singers and writers on this album than ever before”
Blondie 4(0) Ever will also contain another album, Deluxe Redux: Greatest Hits. The second collection sees the band re-record eleven of their best-known songs, including “Heart Of Glass,” “One Way Or Another,” “Atomic,” and many more.
