Black Flag founder and punk icon Greg Ginn has been accused of child abuse by his ex-wife, Marina Ginn, according to reports from Consequence Of Sound. While no formal charges have been filed, an affidavit filed in a Texas court states that Marina sought to modify Ginn’s custody rights, saying that the couple’s two daughters “live in constant fear of their father.”
In the affidavit, Marina claims that Greg refuses to feed his children when they are under his care, only occasionally giving them unpalatable food such as lettuce soaked in vinegar. Marina alleges that her ex-husband’s methods of discipline cross the line into abuse: she accuses Ginn of keeping their daughters from using any form of telecommunication, and she claims that he throws water in their daughters’ faces as a method of discipline. Things apparently got so bad that the couple’s 7-year-old daughter was taken to a hospital for anxiety-induced heart palpitations. The affidavit can be read in full here.
Ginn and his representatives have yet to comment on the accusations.
