Al Kooper’s place in rock ‘n’ roll history is well-earned. The keyboardist/producer is best-known for his work on Bob Dylan’s classic albums Highway 61 Revisited and Blonde On Blonde, but there’s even more to Kooper than that. Kooper co-founded Blood, Sweat & Tears, joined Mike Bloomfield and Stephen Stills on the underrated Super Session album, and he produced Lynyrd Skynyrd’s first three albums after discovering them in 1972. Most recently, Kooper produced and oversaw the release of the comprehensive Mike Bloomfield collection From His Head To His Heart To His Hands. The man lives and breathes music, and it definitely comes across when he performs live. Fans in the West Coast will get a chance to see what we mean when he comes to Harlow’s in Sacramento.
