On April 14, Randy Bachman, of the Guess Who and Bachman-Turner Overdrive fame, will be releasing a new, power trio album, Heavy Blues, under the moniker BACHMAN. The album, which features a rhythm section of Anna Ruddick on bass and Dale Anne Brendon on drums, is heavy on stellar collaborations, with Peter Frampton, Joe Bonamassa, Robert Randolph, the late Jeff Healey and Neil Young (who has called Bachman his “guitar-playin’ hero” going back to their younger days in Winnipeg) all contributing guitar solos.
“Confessin’ To The Devil” features the guitar work of Healey (who recorded this not long before his passing in 2008). Appropriate for an album titled Heavy Blues, the song is based around Brendon’s rolling, tom-heavy drums and a Bo Diddley beat on the guitar.
