Little Feat keyboardist and co-founder Bill Payne is hitting the road this summer, playing shows solo as well as with Leftover Salmon and Larry Campbell & Teresa Williams.
At the urging of his son and friends, Payne has recently ventured out as a solo artist for the first time, while still maintaining his status as a top flight sideman. Payne, who co-wrote the Little Feat classic “Oh Atlanta” with the late Lowell George, has written a new batch of songs with legendary Grateful Dead and Bob Dylan collaborator Robert Hunter. Calling himself a late-bloomer, he says that he excited to have “the confidence to finally allow people to hear me as an individual.”
