Stevie Nicks has just announced the upcoming release of her next album, 24 Karat Gold—Songs From the Vault, her first solo album since 2011’s In Your Dreams. Produced by Nicks herself, Dave Stewart and guitarist Waddy Wachtel, 24 Karat Gold consists of songs written by Nicks between 1969 and 1987, plus two additional songs from 1994 and 1995. The Fleetwood Mac singer stated that she was inspired to re-create the songs after finding the original bootlegs online, continuing by saying “Each song is a lifetime. Each song has a soul. Each song has a purpose. Each song is a love story…They represent my life behind the scenes, the secrets, the broken hearts, the broken hearted and the survivors. These songs are the memories — the 24 karat gold rings in the blue box. These songs are for you.”
24 Karat Gold—Songs From the Vault, will contain Polaroids taken by Nicks throughout her legendary career, a deluxe photobook CD consisting of 48 pages of photos from Nicks’ private collection, as well as two bonus tracks. Stevie Nicks will be sharing previews of the album on her Instagram account starting August 5th, the same day on which pre-orders will also begin. 24 Karat Gold will be released on October 7th, though a vinyl limited edition double LP will be available starting September 29th, coinciding with Fleetwood Mac’s upcoming tour.
