Rarely does anyone stumble into a career in music. That’s certainly not what happened to Brandi Carlile; the singer/songwriter has made music her goal since she was a child listening to her parents’ Patsy Cline records. Carlile has worked hard to make her career happen, and it’s certainly paid off: she has easily become one of the most confident, engaging songwriters out there today. Her latest, The Firewatcher’s Daughter, comes out on March 3rd, and it looks as if it could be her finest yet. If you haven’t heard her work, now is the time to get started, especially now that she’s on tour. Fans at the Troubadour in Los Angeles have some cause for excitement.
