A brand new, raw acoustic demo has just been released for the first time from the vaults of Nirvana frontman Kurt Cobain. The track, a cover of the Beatles’ hit “And I Love Her,” is being used in Brett Morgen’s new Cobain documentary, Montage of Heck. The film has gained great momentum and features incredibly rare home movies, photography, journals, and artwork from the late musician.
Cobain is, of course, famous for being the front-man of 90’s rock giant Nirvana. The group helped shift the sound of popular music of the time away from hair metal and towards grunge and ‘alternative’ rock. Cobain only had a few years of fame before taking his own life in April of 1994. There has been a great deal of unheard material released since Cobain’s death including the With the Lights Out box set as well as singles such as “You Know You’re Right”
You can hear “And I Love Her” below and in the film Montage of Heck when it is released May 4th on HBO. The trailer can be seen below as well.
