Talk about a modern renaissance man… Atle Pettersen, better known simply as Atle, isn’t only a multifaceted musician, he’s also become a major celebrity in Scandanavia, finding overnight success as a model and television personality after coming in as runner-up on the Norwegian version of The X Factor. Perhaps he was always destined for stardom—at age six he began playing the piano, and by eleven he was working on songwriting. After a few years of performing with friends in a metal band, Atle turned attention to pop music, and in 2010 signed up to compete on The X Factor. Since then, though busy acting and modeling, he’s continued to pursue his music career, recording both as a solo artist and in award-winning rock band the Scheen. But always eager for the next big move, Pettersen set his sights on Hollywood.
Today Elmore is premiering “Ready For Love,” a track that not only finds Atle shifting gears musically into R&B, but also finds him poised to win the hearts of American audiences. “I’ve dreamed about bringing my music to America since I was a kid,” he says. “Now, It feels like it’s my time. I’m ready.” Once in Los Angeles, Atle realized that his impressive range and velvety croon were a perfect fit for modern R&B, and tracks began to pour out of him; he wrote over 40 songs in a matter of weeks. “I went to LA to get some inspiration for my new album,” Atle recalls. “I met with [producer] Christian Davis, and I basically ended up with a new sound! We wrote “Ready To Love” in the very first session we had together. I feel that we managed to write a song that fully represents where I want to go musically.” With a pulsing, percussive beat, the song is certainly dance-floor ready, and Atle’s suave, seductive style is drawn out by his falsetto on the choruses. The track is playful and textured, with a unique operatic intro and catchy hook. The track exudes confidence, but hey, what else can you expect from a superstar?
