Troubled songstress Amy Winehouse has canceled all dates on yet another failed comeback tour. This cancelation comes after a particularly bad performance in Serbia. Having only checked out of drug and alcohol abuse treatment three weeks prior to the ill-fated concert, the "Rehab" singer apparently stumbled around on stage while barely singing much to the disappointment of her fans.
Details about Santigold's highly anticipated second album have been released. Fans can look forward to collaborations with Dave Sitek, Nick Zinner of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, production from Switch of Major Lazer and more. The first single should be out later this summer.
Glen Campbell has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease. The country legend who famously won both the Grammy for the best male vocal performance in both the categories of pop and country plans to release his final album, Ghost On The Canvas, this August. He also plans to embark on "The Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour" as the disease is currently in its early stages.
Composing mastermind Danny Elfman is providing the score for the latest Cirque du Soleil show. Elfman, best known for his frequent collaborations with Tim Burton, will record the music with an 80-piece orchestra. This recording will be played alongside a live ensemble. The show, Iris, is said to be equally inspired by aspects of film noir and West Side Story and will be permanently based in Los Angeles.
Metallica is wrapping up another album. What's so special about this latest record from the prolific group? For starters, Lou Reed composed 10 songs for the album. The unexpected combination of these two very distinct musical entities comes from a shared performance in 2009 for the 25th anniversary of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. A release date for the project is not yet scheduled.
Known as the man who unleashed "Ice Ice Baby" upon the world, Vanilla Ice recently launched a website offering real estate advice for fans. Holding the distinction of having the first hip hop song on the Billboard charts didn't satisfy the rapper so he began a career in real estate investment that proved successful. This career change also included his own reality show on the DIY Network that tracked him as he renovated homes in Florida.
Reclusive singer Jeff Mangum has added dates to his upcoming solo tour. The former Neutral Milk Hotel frontman has added five shows to the limited tour roster. A dollar from each ticket sale will be donated to the charity Children of the Blue Sky.
