Folk fans are in for a real treat this summer when Swedish troubadour The Tallest Man On Earth releases his third album, There’s No Leaving Now, through Dead Oceans Records on June 12th. The brainchild of Kristian Masson (who is actually quite average-sized in real life), The Tallest Man On Earth turned heads in 2008 with the release of Shallow Grave. The album won raves for Masson’s acerbic lyrics and a voice that strongly recalled Freewheelin-era Bob Dylan. In 2010, he released an even-better follow-up, The Wild Hunt, in 2010.
Masson is also planning a brief tour to coincide with the record’s release, including a show at New York’s Town Hall and an appearance at the Newport Folk Festival. Elmore readers in the Northeast, take note: these shows aren’t to be missed.
