Last weekend’s season finale of “Saturday Night Live” was a bit more musical than usual with the presence of Mick Jagger as both host and musical guest. It was a night of collaborations for the Stones frontman, as his musical performances included other well-respected artists backing him up. Canadian Grammy-winners Arcade Fire backed Jagger up on a blistering version of “The Last Time” featuring Nikolai Fraiture of The Strokes on bass:
Foo Fighters also joined Jagger for a medley of Stones songs, merging “19th Nervous Breakdown” into “It’s Only Rock ‘n’ Roll (But I Like It):”
Jagger then performed a brand-new song, the politically-charged blues number “Tea Party” with legendary blues axeman Jeff Beck backing him up:
And finally, Jagger and the Arcade Fire closed the show with a performance of “She’s A Rainbow” and “Ruby Tuesday” in honor of cast member Kristen Wiig, who was doing her last show that night:
