It’s “Armageddon” time for Steven Tyler, the battle between good and evil: good being…Aerosmith? Evil being…American Idol! The Boston rocker turned judge has had an epiphany and decided he would like to return to “kicking some serious ass” with his band, which entails leaving his Idol position behind.
Aerosmith have a new album, Music From Another Dimension, due to drop November 6th, and Tyler claims:
After some long…hard…thoughts… I’ve decided it’s time for me to let go of my mistress American Idol before she boils my rabbit. I strayed from my first love, AEROSMITH, and I’m back—but instead of begging on my hands and knees, I got two fists in the air and I’m kicking the door open with my band.
Idol is disappointed about the loss of their “rock star” with Mike Darnell, the network’s president of alternative entertainment stating, “We are very sad that Steven has chosen to focus more on his music, but we always knew when we hired a rock `n’ roll legend, he would go back to his music.” With Tyler’s focus only on Aerosmith, fans are hoping their 15th studio album and tour to follow will have them rockin’ like the good old days; we’ll see if they have “What it Takes” to “Walk [their] Way”!
