The Foo Fighters fans who saw the band play at the Global Citizen Festival in New York last weekend may be disappointed at the latest news. Well, not as disappointed as the Foo Fighters fans who missed the show probably are. That was the band’s last performance in what may be quite a while. On the band’s Facebook page, Dave Grohl announced that after 18 years, the Foo Fighters will be taking a hiatus. Grohl assured fans that the hiatus was not sparked by any negative feelings. In his announcement, Grohl just said, “It’s a good thing for all of us to go away for a while. It’s one of the reasons we’re still here.” Grohl first sprung the news of the band’s hiatus at the festival, when he said, “We don’t have any shows after this. This is where we play as many songs as we can in a short period of time, because, honestly, I don’t know when we’re gonna do it again.”
