With 2012 winding to an end, we’ve got a whole new year coming up with a whole new group of prospective new inductees for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. This year’s nominees are Albert King, Chic, Deep Purple, Donna Summer, Heart, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, Kraftwerk, the Marvelettes, the Meters, N.W.A., Paul Butterfield Blues Band, Procol Harum, Public Enemy, Randy Newman and Rush. This year’s got a new spin on the voting process. It’s the first time the public will be able to vote alongside the professional music buffs. From now until December 3rd, you can vote here at Rolling Stone for your favorite nominees. The top five vote-grabbing artists will make up a “fan’s ballot” that will be one of the more than 600 ballots that will determine the final Rock and Roll Hall results. The induction ceremony will occur on April 18th, 2013 at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles. This is the first time the ceremony has been held in LA since 1993.
