Low Announce New Album With Jeff Tweedy As Producer

Minnesotan indie rockers Low will celebrate their 20th anniversary as a band next year, and they’re planning something special for the occasion. On March 19th, the band plan to release a new album, The Invisible Way, which will be produced by alt-country superstar Jeff Tweedy.

The band recorded the album at Wilco’s recording studio/rehearsal space in Tweedy’s hometown of Chicago. According to the band, it was Tweedy’s work on soul singer Mavis Staples’ You Are Not Alone that convinced the renowned slowcore band to ask for Tweedy to work behind the boards.

In the meantime, Low have also released Plays Nice Places, a six-song live EP recorded during the band’s tour with Death Cab For Cutie . The EP, which is available to download for free in the app below, features a new song called “Waiting,” as well as a guest appearance by Death Cab singer Ben Gibbard.

Below, you can also watch the album trailer for The Invisible Way.
