2011 was a terrific year for Arcade Fire. Remember how the indie rockers shocked everyone by winning a Grammy for their third album, The Suburbs? Well, we do. The album sold over 400,000 copies and reached number one in both the U.S. and Canada. And to top it all off, Arcade Fire was the only Album of the Year nominee not signed to a major label. That’s right. An indie band won big. So yeah, they’re a pretty big deal. And now they’ve got to follow up on all that Grammy award-winning praise and general awesomeness. The band is working on their fourth album, and they’re switching it up by working with James Murphy. Murphy’s primarily known for his work with electronic-dance band LCD Soundsystem, which could mean a slightly new sound for Arcade fire. The band has already debuted a couple of new tracks. Last weekend, the band played a secret show in Montreal under the name of Les Identiks. Arcade Fire plans to release the new album by the end of 2013.
