It’s been five years, but you can’t blame Scaggs for the delay. He’s been touring and performing with the Dukes of September. Besides, you can’t rush brilliance, right? Well, we certainly think so. This March, Boz Scaggs will release Memphis, his latest album brimming with new studio material. “It’s one of the easiest projects I’ve ever had. I sang songs that feel entirely comfortable to me,” Scaggs said in a Rolling Stone interview. “We recorded the 13 tracks to this record in three days. It just sort of fell out easily in the nicest way.” Memphis was recorded at the legendary Royal Studios in the album’s namesake city. You can hear the album’s first single, “Mixed Up Shook Up Girl” on the Rolling Stone website. Memphis comes out on March 5th.
