This one’s going to be lucky number 13. Well, that’s probably what alt-rockers Depeche Mode are hoping for their 13th studio album, Delta Machine. Delta Machine will be following 2009’s Sounds of the Universe, but according to the band, fans should not expect too much of the same from their upcoming album. “With this release, we’ve completely shifted our idea of how to create an album,” said frontman Dave Gahan in a statement. “When we hit a wall where we realize the album is beginning to sound too normal, we’ll mess it up and really give it that organic Depeche Mode sound.” So if you’re looking for the normal and the banal, then you should look elsewhere, because Depeche Mode isn’t interested. After the new album drops, the band will follow with a European tour that kicks off on May 7 in Tel Aviv. A North American tour will follow. Delta Machine is set for release on March 26 through Columbia Records. Keep an eye out for their new single, “Heaven,” which is set to premiere on VEVO on February 1.
