Last year, the Avett Brothers burst out from the burgeoning Americana movement to become one of the most popular bands in the world. This year, many of us will get a chance to see what all the fuss is really about. The acclaimed folkies will be on tour across the United States starting in the spring.
The group’s tour will start at the Orpheum Theater in Madison, Wisconsin before heading east and then south, concluding with a late June performance at the Roanoke Civic Center in Roanoke, Virginia. The band will also take two detours to play festival dates, first at New York City’s Governor’s Ball and at the Warren Haynes-curated Mountain Jam festival at Hunter Mountain, New York. There’s still time for them to add more dates, as the bigger festivals like Bonaroo and Lollapalooza have yet to announce their lineups.
