We really don’t know what’s up with this Queens of the Stone Age album. Ever since it was initially announced, we’ve heard nothing but news about its long list of rumored guests. Drummer Dave Grohl has added QOTSA’s new album to his own long list of projects which he’s been working on lately. And now, Grohl has announced that Elton John will also be playing on the album. “I love that band so much,” John said of the Queens. Sir Elton will be joining Grohl, Trent Reznor, Scissor Sisters’ Jake Shears and former QOTSA members Mark Lanegan and Nick Oliveri. Certainly an interesting mix. But this isn’t John’s first tricky match-up. He’s been a guests on records by artists such as Alice in Chains, Killers and Eminem. It looks like we’re just going to wait for what else the Queens of the Stone Age (and Dave Grohl, for that matter) have cooked up for us. Until then, you can see Elton John perform at the Grammy Awards this Sunday.
