Grammy award-winner Emmylou Harris has had her share of hits. Unfortunately, her most recent one is one she won’t be proud to have on her record. TMZ reports that the country music star has been charged with a hit-and-run. The incident occurred in October, when Harris allegedly crashed her rental car into another vehicle on Los Angeles’ 405 Freeway and then left the scene. At the time, Harris’ spokesperson told TMZ that the singer had been involved in a “minor traffic accident” during which she “unintentionally rubbed bumpers with another vehicle,” and then left the scene because she was unaware of the contact between the vehicles. The L.A. County District Attorney filed the misdemeanor charge against her on Wednesday. Harris has pleaded not guilty to the offense. If convicted, the 65-year-old singer may face up to 6 months in jail.
