Another 20-hour day here at Folk Alliance, where there are six floors of music operating full blast. Three floors of a giant Toronto hotel have guest rooms turned into performance spaces for the duration, and the acts change every half hour and sometimes every 10 minutes until 3 AM.
That’s a lot of music, folks.
Judy Collins put on a beautiful performance in one of the larger banquet rooms, looking ethereal and delivering her hits. Elmore’s own Dennis McDonough donned his Juice Brucesteen persona and led the crowd in a rousing version of his “This Land is Your Land” parody.
I’d love to tell you about the Coal Porters, The Backyard Devils and Brother Sun, but it’s 4:30 AM, and the music starts again tomorrow at 10 AM. I have to be ready.
