At this point, Radiohead seem to like getting people to talk about the notion of the band making new music more than they actually enjoy new music. But when they do get around to making albums, they always leave their very devoted fanbase salivating for more. So, for any Radiohead fans wondering when the band would make a follow-up to their 2011 album The King Of Limbs, we now have an answer for you: soon(ish).
The news comes from Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood, who told Africa’s Mail & Guardian that the band’s nine-month hiatus was coming to an end and that they would head into the studio some time in the summer to begin work on a new album. As is typical with Radiohead, no other information has been given, but hey, it’s something.
In the meantime, Radiohead fans will have to make do with Amok, the album from singer Thom Yorke’s Atoms For Peace side project. Otherwise, expect a new Radiohead album…well, we can’t really be sure. They like to surprise us like that.
