Kings Of Leon guitarist Jared Followill has told the NME that his band’s new record is finished and could see a release some time in September. The guitarist described the new album as “surprisingly youthful” and ” a mix between Youth & Young Manhood and Because Of The Times,” the band’s first and third albums.
Kings Of Leon had indicated last year that they were planning on ending their hiatus to begin work on their first album since 2010’s Come Around Sundown. At the time, the band described the upcoming album as being “more mature” than their previous work. According to Followill, that isn’t exactly what happened, but he seems pleased with the band’s work.
As of right now, the new album has no title yet. Kings Of Leon are heading on the road this year, playing a few select festival dates such as Governor’s Ball in New York City and the V Festival in the U.K.
