After a one-year hiatus, the Ponderosa Stomp Festival is returning to New Orleans with a lineup that’s sure to satisfy the serious music fan in all of us. This year’s lineup keeps in the festival’s spirit of finding and highlighting the sort of artists known only to record collectors but who deserve more exposure then they’ve received.
Among the featured soul, R&B, and garage-rock acts at this year’s festival are The Standells, the garage-rock quintet behind the 1966 hit “Dirty Water.” They’ll be joined by Chris Clark, the Northern Soul singer who had a stint at Motown Records during the label’s peak and who wrote the screenplay for Diana Ross’ 1972 film Lady Sings The Blues.
The Ponderosa Stomp Festival takes place on October 4th and 5th at Rock ‘n Bowl in New Orleans. The full lineup for the festival can be found below and at ponderosastomp.com
