Dobro and lap steel queen Cindy Cashdollar is worth seeing live no matter who she’s playing with, and she’s played with just about everybody. Ryan Adams, Van Morrison, Jorma Kaukonen, Bob Dylan, Dave Alvin, and Leon Redbone have all brought in Cashdollar to add that sweet lap steel sound to their music, and New Orleans pianist Marcia Ball is joining Cashdollar again for a tour that brings them to New York’s City Winery this week.
Ball’s swampy take on N’awlins R&B is the kind of music that Cashdollar complements beautifully, adding multiple dimensions with searing lap steel solos. This melding of musical minds is not one to miss out on, so if you read about Cindy in this month’s Elmore and got curious, this is definitely the show you must go to if you want to see her in action. You can purchase tickets to the show here. Don’t forget to pick up your free copy of Elmore Magazine while you’re at the show!
