We could tell you Tierney Sutton’s credentials as an amazing jazz singer. We could casually say how she’s a three-time Grammy nominee for “Best Jazz Vocal Album,” 2005’s Jazzweek Vocalist of the Year and the recipient of the LA Jazz Society’s Vocalist award. Or we could also casually bring up how for twenty years, she has fronted the Tierney Sutton Band, which tours around the world and has headlined at Carnegie Hall, The Hollywood Bowl, The Kennedy Center and Jazz at Lincoln Center, among others. Or the fact that Sutton is the vocal department head at the Los Angeles Music Academy in Pasadena, Ca and has taught at USC’s Thornton School of Music for over a decade. We could tell you all that stuff about Tierney Sutton. But it’s a good thing we don’t have to. Because if you know her, then you’ll be there to see the Tierney Sutton Band take over Birdland from March 19 to March 23. The band will be playing two shows daily.
