There’s intense singing, and then there’s whatever Rhett Miller did at a show in Dallas last weekend. According to Miller’s Twitter account, the singer blew out his voice while playing with the Old 97’s at a benefit show; the injury forced Miller to cancel two solo shows in the Hudson Valley this weekend.
Miller’s next solo shows are scheduled for April 18th in Washington, D.C., if his voice recovers in time. In the meantime, Miller has been very active on his Twitter account, even going as far as to describe some of the gorier aspects of the injury in detail.
The Old 97’s next scheduled show is in May, and Miller is adamant that the band’s tour will continue.
