Sam Beam-the mastermind behind Iron & Wine-has never seemed comfortable with playing the part of acoustic troubadour assigned to him once people heard his music on the Garden State soundtrack. On his newest album, Ghost On Ghost, Beam takes the various lessons learned from dabbling in jazz and soul and hones them into a tight, polished sound that pleases both old fans and new. Elmore’s Joanna Hurley described the album as “a pleasant surprise” and praised Beam for the confidence with which he puts out songs and defies expectations. Iron & Wine are heading out on tour in support of the album, stopping at the legendary Beacon Theater for a night of acoustic balladry, soothing melodies, and so much more.
