METZ are less of a band then they are a force of nature, both on record and live. Their driving, howling riffs recall bands like the Jesus Lizard and other groups who deliberately set out to make you uncomfortable. Their debut album, out last year on Sub Pop, was one of the the best indie debut albums in recent memory, a swift kick in the ass for a genre that really needed it. They’re coming down from Canada to play an intimate show at Brooklyn’s Shea Stadium before a larger gig at the Music Hall of Williamsburg. Take our advice and go to the smaller show; it’s the best way to take in all the volume.
