Any Grace Potter album is a good album in our book, but last year’s The Lion The Beast The Beat was impressive even by her lofty standards. Writer Nicholas Caruso praised the album for its live, loud production and Potter’s “chameleon-like ability” to shift from tender moments to rousing rock numbers. Ever the road warriors, the band are headed out on the road again this year on a tour that could dwarf last year’s tour. The Nocturnals head out on May 30th and will keep touring through to September, playing with the likes of The Allman Brothers Band, Robert Plant, Dave Matthews, and the Tragically Hip. More info about the tour can be found on the Grace Potter & The Nocturnals website.
In the meantime, Potter has released a new video to whet fans’ appetites for more Grace Potter & The Nocturnals shows. The video for “The Lion The Beast The Beat” shows the band in their element: in front of a crowd of cheering fans. It’s a fitting clip for one of the best songs off of a great album.
