Lest you think that Jim James was going to keep going solo following the release of Regions Of Light & Sound Of God this year, that doesn’t seem to be the case. In an interview with Rolling Stone today, James confirmed that he would be returning to the studio with My Morning Jacket to record a new album in October.
“We’re going to start recording in October,” James told the magazine. “We’re in the process of nailing down a studio…I’m super excited about that.” James mentioned that they were looking at mostly professional studios, as opposed to the church gymnasium that they used to record their last album Circuital.
In the meantime, James is heading down to Bonnaroo (his seventh appearance at the massive Tennessee festival) for his first Rock N’ Soul Dance Party Super Jam. He’s also kept busy as a producer, helming the upcoming new album from the Preservation Hall Jazz Band.
