Death and internal strife can’t seem to stop the Doors, who have moved into the 21st century in a big, big way. Apple has announced that the legendary rock band are getting their own iPad app, available for purchase on May 8th.
Conceived by Elektra Records founder Jac Holzman, who signed the band in 1966, the Doors app is a comprehensive look at the history of the band, including analysis of the making of each Doors album by David Fricke, biographies of the key members of the Doors universe, and video testimonials from the likes of Patti Smith, Hunter S. Thompson, Greil Marcus and Francis Ford Coppola. Video commentaries on the Doors’ career will be included, as well as six Doors music videos.
