Ty Segall gets a wake-up call in his video announcement of his upcoming tour. The 32-second clip shows Segall peacefully sleeping on a couch when someone slaps him in the face and proclaims, “Time for tour, sleepyhead.” That’s followed by the sound of evil cackling. Leave it to Segall to find such a … um … creative way to announce his tour.
His Sleeper tour will be kicking off in Paris at the City Sounds Festival on July 19. After the festival, he heads back to the States for a show in Santa Cruz, Calif., on Aug. 1. He’ll be heading to New York in the end of August, hitting the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Aug. 29 and the Bowery Ballroom on Aug. 30. His last U.S. date will be on Sept. 9 in Reno, N.V., and he’ll be wrapping up the tour at the ATP Festival on Dec. 1.
Segall released three albums last year, and he’s now working on his full-length album with his other band, Fuzz. Plus, don’t forget that he’s also releasing a new album called Sleeper on August 20. Busy guy. You can watch his tour announcement video and Sleeper album trailer below.
