Portland, Oregon’s MusicFestNW is celebrating its thirteenth year in style with an excellent lineup fronted by alt-rockers Young The Giant, alt-country singer Neko Case. and indie-folk newcomers The Head & The Heart. The five-day festival will take over the city as Portland’s response to SXSW.
Also performing at MusicFestNW are Justin Townes Earle, Bonnie “Prince” Billy, Charles Bradley, Deerhunter, John Vanderslice, Thao and the Get Down Stay Down, Youth Lagoon, Superchunk, Ra Ra Riot, The Thermals, Mariachi El Bronx, Titus Andronicus, Bob Mould, The Dodos, Ty Segall, The Helio Sequence, and Unknown Mortal Orchestra. We’re also told that Portlandia star Fred Armisen will be there, but we’re not sure if the festival will be incorporated into a delightfully bizarre sketch on the show.
MusicFestNW takes place from Sept. 3rd through Sept. 8th in Portland. Pack your ponchos. You can purchase tickets and get more information at the MusicFestNW website.
