Nude Beach are, hands down, one of our favorite bands in New York City right now. The Brooklyn-via-Long Island trio play a refreshing, unpretentious take on good, old-fashioned rock ‘n’ roll reminiscent of Tom Petty and Bruce Springsteen. Compared to the self-aware, hipster-baiting bands that usually come out of the borough, a little honesty is a good thing. Fortunately, the rest of the music-listening world seems to agree, as Nude Beach have gone from playing dive bars to opening for the likes of Roky Erikson. This week, they head to the Bowery Ballroom with like-minded rockers King Tuff. Trust us; this is going to be a good one.
