Get ready for two kinds of crazy: Black Sabbath and Andrew W.K. will be joining forces on their upcoming U.S. tour. Black Sabbath will be touring in support of their new album, 13, and hard-partier Andrew W.K. will be opening for them. In a statement, W.K. gushed about being asked to tour with the band: “I’m just shocked. It’s just the most incredible dream come true! This is the greatest honor I could be given. I remember when the phone rang and I first heard that Black Sabbath wanted me to be their exclusive opening act. I was really in a state of disbelief—almost sick with amazement and excitement. It took about three days until I fully mastered the reality of this opportunity and realized it was really going to happen. Black Sabbath’s music changed my life from the first time I heard it, and this tour will change my life all over again. I couldn’t be more thankful or humbled by this one-in-a-billion miracle. Can this really be real?! What kind of adventure will this be?!”
If you recall, just recently, W.K. did a 24-hour drumming stunt. He might need some more of that energy for this new tour.
The tour starts off in Houston on July 25 and concludes in L.A. on Sept. 3. They’ll be making stops in Holmdel, NJ; Philly; and Boston; among other locations. For more information, check out the band’s website.
