Every year, the best and biggest names in blues and blues-rock head to Nescopeck, Pennsylvania for the Briggs Farm Blues Festival. In the past, the likes of Buddy Guy, Alexis P. Suter, Rory Block, Gabe Butterfield, Eddie “The Chief” Clearwater, Moreland & Arbuckle and Michael Packer. This year’s lineup may be even better: Shakura S’Aida and Lurrie Bell lead a lineup that includes such great artists as Terry “Harmonica” Bean, Eli Cook, Lonnie Shields, Cedric Burnside, The Kinsey Report, and Nate Myers. On top of that, the fest has a wide selection of food straight out of a Mississippi Delta cookbook and camping options that are the best out of any festival. (Seriously, we’ve been to Bonnaroo, and they have nothing on how Briggs Farm handles camping.) For fans of great American music, Briggs Farm is the place to be.
Tickets for the Briggs Farm Blues Festival (July 12-13) are currently on sale, but we’d recommend snapping them up before it’s too late. To get tickets and to find out about camping and food accommodations, visit the Briggs Farm Blues Fest website.
