Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane has been hospitalized to undergo surgery to remove a blood clot in his brain, according to a statement on the Mumfords’ official website. As a result, three dates on the band’s current tour have been postponed.
“Our friend and bandmate Ted has been feeling unwell for the past few days, and yesterday he was taken to a hospital to receive emergency treatment,” the statement reads. “Ted is receiving excellent care and we are being assured that he will recover quickly from surgery.”
As a result of Dwane’s surgery, Mumford & Sons have had to postpone shows in Texas (Dallas and Woodlands) and New Orleans. The band are expected to be back on the road in time for their headlining performance at Bonnaroo this coming Saturday. The band’s statement says that they have no plans to postpone any more tour dates.
