If you’re sick of all of your old Beatles gear, then you’re in for a treat. Universal Music Group has just announced that it now owns the rights to the famous band’s merchandise in North America. Universal’s Bravado division has teamed up with the Beatles’ business firm, Apple Corps., to license a brand new line of Beatles products. Universal, which is already a music bigwig, now owns both the merchandising rights and the Fab Four’s music catalog. The company purchased the Beatles’ former label, EMI, last year.
“All of us at Universal Music Group are very excited about extending our relationship with the Beatles’ iconic brand to include both merchandise and their legendary recordings, and about the potential for innovative marketing of creative new products,” said Universal Music Group CEO Lucian Grainge in a statement.
You probably already have some of Bravado’s other merchandise. Bravado also manages the merch for another big band—the Rolling Stones. The first couple of new Beatles products will be available next month.
