Morrissey has just not had any luck this year. After encountering a string of medical problems (bleeding ulcer, Barrett’s esophagus, double pneumonia) that resulted in his cancelling show after show, Morrissey’s doctor reportedly advised the singer to consider retirement for the sake of his health. Morrissey refused to be stopped, but now it looks like he’s down again due to a bout of severe food poisoning.

The singer was gearing up for his triumphant return to the stage with his South American tour, but it looks like that is going to have to wait a bit longer. According to a concert promoter in Peru, the 14 canceled dates will be rescheduled. A promoter in Chile says that Morrissey has gone back to England to take care of his health.
