CBGB was legendary, a musical landmark, if you will. Which is why the upcoming film about the venue is turning out to be a pretty big deal. The trailer for CBGB says “50,000 bands and 1 disgusting bathroom,” but as the clip shows, there are also roaches, faulty equipment, debtors, drama and of course, a whole bunch of music. Alan Rickman stars as the club owner, Hilly Kristal, who ran CBGB from 1973 to 2006, when the club was shut down because of a rent dispute. Malin Akerman, Rupert Grint, Ryan Hurst, Justin Bartha, Johnny Galecki, Ashley Greene and the Foo Fighters’ Taylor Hawkins also star in the film, portraying classic rock icons like Talking Heads, the Dead Boys, the Ramones, Blondie, the Police, Iggy Pop, the Patti Smith Group and more. CBGB will be released in theaters on Oct. 11. You can watch the trailer below.
