The White Stripes recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of 2003’s Elephant by releasing a limited-edition Record Store Day vinyl reissue, and Jack White’s Third Man Records will be giving the album a wider release later this month. According to Third Man Records, the vinyl, which will be rereleased on Aug. 27, was “mastered direct from the original analog source from the 2002 recordings at Toe Rag Studios.” It will include two 180-gram LPs, a double gatefold, printed inner sleeves and an MP3 download card. If you’re not sure whether you want to add this reissue to your collection, Third Man offered a couple good reasons on its website: “This album is dedicated to the death of the sweetheart and is still as poignant today as when it was originally released in 2003. We draw a firm line here … you can’t consider yourself a White Stripes fan without this record on your record shelf.” Well, White Stripes fans, you heard ‘em. You can pre-order the album at the Third Man Records website.
