Elliott Smith’s body of work is impressive, but the music world has still felt a little empty since his untimely death in 2003. This year marks the 10th anniversary of Elliott’s passing (as well as what would have been his 44th birthday), which led Old 97’s frontman Rhett Miller to assemble an all-star tribute to the singer-songwriter. Miller will host the event, which will feature performances from the likes of Chris Thile, Mary Lou Lord, David Garza, Meat Industry, Young Hines, Christina Courtin, Katalina Guerra, and a few surprise guests. We couldn’t think of a better way to pay tribute to such a great songwriter.
